Fertilizer Swaps and Derivatives

The trade in fertilizers swaps and derivatives has grown considerably in the past five years. Since the early days of the fertilizer paper trade, Profercy's weekly price assessments have been used to settle contracts. Our prices are now part of the main index used across the industry and by the main industry brokers. These include Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Direct Hedge and Freight Investor Services.

Weekly Price Assessments

Profercy adheres to a strict methodology for fertilizer market price assessments.

A Control Framework document detailing Profercy Ltd.’s governance arrangements, methodological approach, scrutiny of benchmark determinations and approach to amending price benchmarks is available to subscribers and key stakeholders. The document also provides details of Profercy Ltd.’s approach to consulting on amends to specific price benchmarks, as well as the steps that will be taken if complaints regarding specific price benchmarks are received.
